ZOOM Online Live & Guided Classes

ZOOM classes are live, guided, and Interactive. Our live online classes make you feel like you are in the studio with us.

ZOOM Online Class Policies & Guide

For the best online experience, and the comfort and safety of our students we have outlined a few helpful tips and class policies

  • All Classes are limited capacity so we can better serve you. Please do review our cancelation policy(ies).
  • New students: As courtesy to all our students we ask for your camera to be ON at the start of class.  Just as in our studio we strive to keep all students comfortable and safe till we are aquatinted. If you are uncomfortable please give us a call.
  • All students are advised to sign-in 5-10 minutes before class begins so that we are able to check you in. Leave your shoes at the front door to enhance the experience 🙂 . For those who don’t live in barefoot land 🙂
  • We recommend when possible to place your camera at least 5-8 feet away from you.  Allowing your teacher to see you from your ankles to your shoulders is adequate.
  • Please sign in with your full name and email address when first accessing the class.
  • You will be added into a waiting room before the teacher checks you into class.
  • You should check your speakers to make sure you can hear us. The controls for your video and mic are shown at the bottom of your screen or when tapping the video when on your mobile device.
  • If you happen to have props, get them ready! No props, get creative!! A large can of sauce can be a block!
  • You will enter the room muted so we won’t be able to hear you.
  • If you’d like assistance, be sure to leave your video stream on.

REFUNDS POLICIES: No Refunds, No Exceptions.

Please read all of the below to familiarize yourself with the new rules, guidelines & policies.

Be Mindful of Our Guidelines & Policies

If you need to cancel, you must do so at least 5 hours before that class begins. Please refer to our cancellation and no-show policies for further information (below). Please also have the email “reminders & notifications” turned on to receive correspondence on the class or workshop you are attending. This will also assure you get notification should we need to cancel the class or woprkshop.

CANCELLATIONS
(Single Class, Class Packages and Unlimited Memberships)
In-Person Classes: You must cancel your class 5 hours or more prior to class start time in order to un-reserve your spot and have it returned to your account.

LATE-CANCEL

In-Person Classes: If you late-cancel less than 5 hours prior to class start time, you will be charged or forfeit the class. If you are a no-show (you did not cancel) you forfeit your class. No exceptions.

*All late-cancel fees will automatically be charged to your credit card on file, or added as a negative balance on your account, or the class can be forfeited completely from class passes. Monthly passes may be suspended or incur a charge.

NO-SHOWS

For Single Drop-In Classes and Class Packages:

If you do not show up to class and do not cancel, your class will be deducted from your account.

It would be unfair to a fellow student who may have wanted to take a class and the spot was held; And it’s good karma.

All no-show fees will automatically be charged to your credit card on file or added to your account.

CLASS CAPACITY MINIMUMS (In these times, we have limited our class sizes)

In-Studio/In-Person:

Our current max capacity for in-person classes is 11 students.

Due to costs of running a class and not being able to fill our classes, we will now require 5 in-person students to hold an in-person class or workshop. You will be notified via email 2 hours before class is set to begin if the class must be canceled. We appreciate your understanding.

Online Classes:

We require 4 students to hold an online class.

WORKSHOPS & RETREATS
You must cancel 48 hours or more in advance to receive credit for another workshop. If you late-cancel less than 48 hours before class starts, your workshop credit will still be deducted from your account.

WAIT-LISTING FOR FULL CLASSES
Wait-listing allows students to wait for a class opening when a class is full in the event another student cancels. It’s highly recommended that you have notification enabled in Mind-Body to receive waitlist notifications via email. Such messages are not sent by text.

Wait-listing to a full class is first-come-first-serve. If you plan NOT to attend after wait-listing or after gaining a spot, please remove yourself from the waitlist or cancel the reservation as soon as possible as a courtesy to other students who may also be waiting for a spot opening. Other students would greatly appreciate it, and you will as well. If you have added yourself into a waitlist for a class which is full, and gain a spot when another student cancels, we may consider this a standard reservation and all reservation no-show or late-cancellation policies may apply. Its best to confirm or decline your class reservation after you have been moved from the waitlist to the class.

ZOOM Online Class Policies & Guide

For the best online experience, and the comfort and safety of our students we have outlined a few additional helpful tips and class policies

  • New students: As courtesy to all our students we ask for your camera to be ON at the start of class.  Just as in our studio we strive to keep all students comfortable and safe till we are aquatinted. If you are uncomfortable with this please give us a call.
  • We recommend when possible to place your camera at least 5-8 feet away from you.  Allowing your teacher to see you from your ankles to your shoulders is adequate if you are unable to get a complete view.
  • Please sign in with your full name, so we may check in you in.
  • You will be added into a waiting room before the teacher checks you into class.
  • You should check your speakers to make sure you can hear us. The controls for your video and mic are shown at the bottom of your screen or when tapping the video when on your mobile device.

  • You will enter the room muted so we won’t be able to hear you. You have the ability to raise your hand to get your teacher’s attention by clicking the button “Raise Hand”. feel free to just simply unmute yourself
  • We encourage you to share this experience with those in the same household. This is a great time in history for self growth & household bonding.
  • In these group classes students will be able to see little thumbnails of each other. The main live stream will be of the teacher at all times. That’s right! I can still see you on your mat! XO
  • If you’d like assistance, be sure to leave your video stream on. I will have my eye on you :-)!

Help/FAQs

I am new to yoga. How do I choose the right class?
We recommend if you are new to Yoga to call us. We will help you find your best classes.

Yoga 101 Workshop is the best place to begin. These are 75 to 90-minute classes and have extra instruction within slow-paced sequences. Another class to explore is “Simple Stretch”. This class is derived from yoga postures(asanas) and can be for those who are unfamiliar with yoga.

We also offer free classes from time to time so signing up to our newsletter will keep you posted.

How long are classes?
Classes range from one hour to one hour and thirty minutes. Please refer to our class schedule for details regarding the length of classes.

Can I bring my child to a class?
Children between 9 and 17 years of age, when accompanied by an adult, may take a daily Yoga class.

What should I wear?
We suggest comfortable clothing that will allow the body to stretch easily, such as a leotard, sweatpants and a shirt, or shorts and a T-shirt.

I’m not flexible. I haven’t exercised in years. Will I be okay? Are the classes hard?
It is not necessary to be flexible to practice Yoga. If you have not been physically active we suggest you start with a Yoga 101 class or register to our beginner workshops (coming soon). Our teachers are happy to suggest what class might be specifically appropriate for you if you ask them to observe your practice while taking a class. Owl’s Head Yoga encourages students to work within their capacity and to use the benefits of the physical practice to support not only the health of the body but of the mind and spirit.

Can I use my cell phone when I am at Owl’s Head Yoga?
Please turn off all beepers and cell phones. This will enable other students to have a more peaceful experience.

Do I need to make a reservation for class?
Yes. Reserve your space with our Online Scheduler or MindBody Mobile App.

Can I wait-list for a class if a spot is not available in the event another student cancels?
Yes, various classes have a set number of students who can wait for a spot opening in the event another student cancels. If you opt-in to be placed on the wait-list, and a fellow student cancels, you will be notified via email or text message that you were moved from the wait-list and now have reserved the class (You should have notification enabled within Mind-Body).  Wait-list students are first-come-first-serve. If you plan NOT to attend after wait-listing, please remove yourself from the waitlist or reservation as a courtesy to other students wanting a spot. Please also ready our policy on wait-lists above.
